Job Overview
As our Junior Website Designer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of Fortnum & Mason's digital user interface. Working closely with the Senior Website Designer, you will be responsible for supporting the overall aesthetic of the website, including creating brand assets for use across the website as well as updating content across the website in our content management system. The role acts as a creative champion of the Fortnum’s Brand online interacting with multiple parties across the company including Digital and offline Marketing, Hospitality, Retail and Technology; as well as external brand agencies. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on digital designer looking to develop their design expertise within a premium retail brand. You will gain experience not only as a designer but in the production management and implementation of a large e-commerce website.

Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities
- Design and creation of website and campaign assets to use across the site and other digital channels, including homepage, category landing pages, navigations and editorial/journal pages and paid social insuring a consistent journey throughout while aligning to offline POS, where applicable.
- Creatively delivering design assets to meet our brand guidelines through use of imagery, layout, iconography, typography and colour.
- Redesign website pages to enhance the brand experience and improve website conversion, with support from internal UX design team.
- Maintain and update website content through the CMS, including but not limited to homepage content, category pages, landing pages and store information.
- Implementation and technical management of design assets into Magento platform.
- Working with trade and marketing teams to influence content creation to enhance the website look and feel, supporting key commercials.
- Support the technical build of bespoke Magento assets with an external agency, including review and testing phases.
- Support testing and quality assurance of website updates, campaign launches and new functionality.
- Work with UX, analytics and trading teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and website optimisation activities.
Key Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years' experience in digital design
- Strong Graphic Design skills, including layout, typography, retouching, iconography, and colour. Animation a bonus.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills
- Knowledge of Figma preferred.
- Basic knowledge of CSS and HTML desirable.
- A strong portfolio of web design work, including e-commerce and multi-channel assets.
- Excellent attention to UI/UX detail and strong organisational skills.
- Experience managing website content through a CMS platform, Magento preferred.
- A proactive and curious mindset with a willingness to test, learn and develop new skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Understanding of ecommerce customer journeys and digital best practises.
- An interest in ecommerce, luxury retail and digital trends
- A genuine enthusiasm for e-commerce and a desire to build a career across digital design.
