Role Overview
A UK infrastructure specialist with operations needs clearer internal interfaces to manage their logistics and field reporting. As a Junior Web Designer at Tech Pipeline, you will help us address the operational drag caused by cluttered dashboards and confusing layouts that prevent staff from getting work done. This is a fully remote position where you will focus on cleaning up the visual seams in the tools these teams use every day. We are looking for someone who cares more about how a button works in practice than how it looks on a presentation slide. You will spend your time identifying where users get stuck and providing the design fixes that keep data moving.

We fix the broken approval chains and manual reconciliations that slow companies down. Our team focuses on the gap between existing software and the actual work that needs to happen. We do not deliver abstract frameworks: we rebuild routing rules and consolidate drifting backlogs. We stay through the cutover and the first month of operation to ensure the fix holds. We believe the tool a company already owns is usually the right place for the fix. We value clear documentation, named ownership, and plain English in all our communications. We remove the daily drag so client teams can return to the work that matters most.
What You Will Do
- Audit internal interfaces for a UK infrastructure firm to find where navigation fails or causes friction.
- Simplify complex data views to reduce the need for manual workarounds by field staff.
- Update CSS and HTML components to fix layout shifts in internal portals and reporting tools.
- Create wireframes for new routing rules to ensure clear user paths through approval chains.
- Maintain design documentation and runbooks to match the actual configuration of the client systems.
- Clean up stale data visualization components that no longer reflect the client's current operational reality.
- Work with the technical team to ensure design changes do not break existing backend logic or data flows.
- Assist in the final cutover process by verifying that all UI elements function correctly in the live environment.

What You Bring
- Basic proficiency with layout tools like Figma or similar design software used for web projects.
- Fundamental understanding of HTML and CSS to help bridge the gap between design and implementation.
- Strong attention to detail and a habit of checking your work against the project requirements.
- A genuine curiosity about how systems break and a desire to fix things that do not work properly.
- The ability to write clear, plain English descriptions of design changes and decisions for the decision log.
- Willingness to learn how to read logs and technical documentation to understand user friction.
- Prior experience with personal projects, internships, or classroom work in web design or user interface development.
