We are adding a Junior Web Designer to our team
We are adding a Junior Web Designer to our team to help us build functional and clean interfaces for our clients. One of our primary current projects involves a London based partner in the financial services sector that needs a more organized way to manage complex data sets. You will be helping us design the layouts for their internal dashboards and admin tools to ensure their staff can find information quickly and without errors. This is a full time, permanent position that is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use to get their jobs done. We do not spend our time on flashy consumer apps or marketing sites that prioritize style over substance. Instead, we focus on the practical side of software: admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations. Our clients usually come to us when they have a sprawling spreadsheet that has become unmanageable or when their various software tools refuse to communicate with each other.
We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward and honest. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we perform weekly demos to show our progress, and we hand over everything when we are finished. That includes the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos for the end users. We use reliable technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the systems we build to be stable and easy to maintain for years to come. We are a team of professionals who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest design trends.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Role
In this role, you will be focused on the usability and clarity of internal business tools. Much of your work will involve taking complex sets of data and organizing them into logical, readable layouts. You will be designing table views, form structures, and navigation menus that help users move data between systems without getting lost. Because we work with a London based client with high standards for data accuracy, your designs will need to prioritize precision and utility.
You will work closely with our developers to ensure your designs are feasible and easy to implement. This is not about creating abstract art; it is about cleaning up legacy interfaces and making sure a warehouse manager or a data analyst can do their job without frustration. You will also assist in creating documentation and visual guides that explain how the new systems work.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who understands the basics of user interface design and has a strong eye for organization. Since this is an entry level role, we do not expect you to have a long history of professional projects, but you should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles through personal projects or your studies. Being organized and able to manage your own time in a remote setting is essential. You should be comfortable receiving direct feedback and iterating on your designs based on technical constraints. Most importantly, you should be someone who finds satisfaction in making a complicated process feel simple and logical for the end user.
Helpful Background
While we will help you get up to speed on our specific workflows, there are a few tools and concepts that will be helpful to know. Familiarity with Figma or similar design software is a must for creating mockups and prototypes. A basic understanding of how HTML and CSS work will help you design interfaces that are easier for our developers to build. If you have ever used GitHub to version your work or if you understand how components work in a framework like React, that will be a significant advantage. We also value any experience you have with basic data visualization or creating icons that help users navigate software quickly.

Working at Pixel Systems
Working here is different from working at a large corporation. We have a flat structure with no unnecessary management layers, which means you will be working directly with the people building the software. We value honesty and clear communication above all else. Because we are a fully remote company, we rely on written updates and clear documentation to keep everyone on the same page. We offer a competitive salary that is attractive for an entry level design role in today's market. You will have the chance to see your work being used by real people to solve real business problems, which is far more rewarding than designing a landing page that no one visits.
We prioritize a steady work pace and clear expectations. We do not have high pressure deadlines or late night emergencies because we plan our projects carefully and set realistic goals with our clients. We want you to grow as a designer by working on practical, challenging problems that require thoughtful solutions. Our team is small, supportive, and focused on doing good work without the drama often found in larger agencies. We take pride in the fact that when we build something, it stays built and it works exactly as intended.
