Junior Yacht Designer Project Manager
RWD is searching for an outstanding Junior Yacht Designer to join our award-winning design studio for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Bringing passion, enthusiasm, and a strong creative foundation, our Junior Yacht Designers support project teams across the studio. This is an exciting entry-level role at RWD, where, under the guidance of our senior designers, you'll have the opportunity to contribute, grow, and immerse yourself in the world of exceptional yacht design.
Our Yacht Design team is the glue that holds every project together – and you'll be part of it. This is a department that spans yacht design, project management, and construction, so attention to detail, adaptability, creativity, and excellent communication are essential.

How You'll Help Shape Our Projects
- Communicate and translate interior/exterior design information through 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for shipyards and subcontractor manufacturers
- Assist with drafting general arrangement plans for review
- Organise and supply information to visualisers
- Work with the project co-ordinators to keep RWD’s project planning and work schedules synchronised with the project build schedule, ensuring information is delivered on time
- Report to the team leaders and project managers at regular intervals on task progress, both internally and at the shipyards
- Support the creative team with meeting design briefs
- Factor environmental impact into design decisions and contribute to RWD's sustainability approach

The Skills You’ll Bring
- Graduate or Master's level in naval architecture, yacht design, or transport design (other relevant qualifications or experience will be considered)
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Resourceful, adapting quickly to changing situations
- Balances attention to detail with big-picture thinking
- Excellent IT skills with knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Office/Excel, and planning software
- Hand sketching is desirable
- Eligible to work in the UK
