Company Description

Nostos is a new specialty Managing General Agent (MGA) focused on modern, explicit underwriting for complex risks. The company challenges traditional boundaries between specialty insurance classes, recognizing that real-world exposures often move fluidly across categories. Nostos aims to provide faster, more transparent decisions and a clearer view of risk for clients, brokers, and carriers. Inspired by the ancient Greek concept of “homecoming” after crisis, Nostos is driven by the social value of insurance in helping businesses return to stability. The team is growing, and applicants will be joining an innovative firm at an early and formative stage.

Role Description

This is a full-time Junior/Trainee Accountant role based in the City of London, offered on a hybrid basis with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including posting journals, handling accounts payable and receivable entries, and assisting with bank reconciliations. The Junior/Trainee Accountant will help prepare monthly reports, assist in maintaining accurate ledgers, and support the production of management information for underwriting and operations teams. The role includes collaborating with senior finance colleagues to ensure timely invoicing, expense processing, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will also contribute to process improvement initiatives and learn core insurance accounting concepts relevant to a specialty MGA environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
