Job Overview

The Assistant Store Manager will support the day-to-day operations of the Store. Reporting directly to the Store Manager and working closely alongside the Supervisor role, this position will play a key role in leading and developing a team while driving the commercial and operational success of the department. Alongside daily shop floor management, this role will contribute to weekly trade reporting, KPI analysis, operational planning, and talent development within the store leadership structure.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Sales

  • Support the daily operations of a fast-paced brand
  • Assist in driving sales performance, KPIs, and department targets
  • Construct weekly trade reports identifying performance opportunities, key focuses, and priorities for the forthcoming period
  • Support stock control and liaise with the Operations Manager regarding replenishment and stock requirements
  • Create staff rotas while maintaining labour efficiency and operational standards
  • Act as a reliable and flexible keyholder

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service across our premium brands
  • Handle customer queries and problem-solving professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain strong product knowledge, including styles, features, pricing, and promotions
  • Stay up to date with seasonal trends and new product launches

Team Leadership

  • Lead and motivate the team during both busy and quieter trading periods
  • Support staff training, coaching, and ongoing team development
  • Work closely with senior management to support operational improvements and business strategy

Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure the department remains organised, visually welcoming, and operationally efficient
  • Consistently uphold company policies, procedures, and brand standards while protecting the integrity of both brands

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven management or supervisory experience within retail or customer service, preferably within fashion retail
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence working within a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to achieve sales targets and KPIs
  • Experience with cash handling and POS/computer systems
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
  • Positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach with a strong work ethic and ability to motivate a team
  • Problem-solving skills to resolve any issues that may arise in-store
  • Sales skills to drive revenue growth and meet targets
