Kali Theatre’s Free Theatre Development Programme for Female-and Non-Binary Playwrights of South Asian Heritage
Kali Hubs
Kali Hubs is an intensive weekend designed for writers who have some writing credits, are graduates of Kali Theatre’s Discovery Programme or are already established in their practice and want to move beyond the page and into the room.
Across Four Intensive Sessions, You’ll Explore
- Devising and Collaboration: How to create new work alongside other theatre-makers and hold your vision in the room with Common/Wealth theatre company.
- Making Your Own Work: Practical tools for self-producing, fundraising, and bringing your ideas to life independently, led by Common/Wealth theatre company.
- Climate Dramaturgy: What it means to make work sustainably, and how the climate crisis can shape storytelling itself with HighTide theatre company.
- Confidence and Agency: Coaching sessions with Aileen Gonsalves—currently working with Zack Polanski and the Green Party—to help you lead with clarity and purpose.

Sat 28 – Sun 29 Nov 2026, 11am – 4pm
Writers must commit to all workshops over this weekend.
Who can apply
- Female and non-binary writers of South Asian descent.
- Based in or are from Bradford District or West Yorkshire.
- Must have completed our Discovery programme or have written at least 1 full-length play or have some writing credits. These do not have to have been professionally produced.
- Aged 18+.
- Eligible to live and work in the UK.

Access
