The Role
In this role, you will play a part in supporting the day-to-day operation of the café, leading shifts, coaching the team and ensuring outstanding food quality, service and operational standards. Working alongside the Store Manager, you'll help create a welcoming environment for members while driving excellent customer service, food safety and team performance.

- Support the day-to-day running of the café, leading shifts and ensuring smooth operations.
- Coach and support Team Members to deliver exceptional customer service and food quality.
- Ensure brand, food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Oversee food and beverage preparation, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met.
- Monitor stock levels, complete ordering and support stock control processes.
- Resolve customer queries professionally and support the team during busy trading periods.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members while reinforcing operational standards.
- Maintain accurate operational records, food safety documentation and daily checklists.
- Work collaboratively with the Virgin Active team to deliver a seamless member experience.
- Support the Store Manager in achieving operational and commercial objectives.
Who We’re Looking For
- Food Safety Level 3 qualification.
- Food Allergy and Intolerance Training.
- Previous supervisory experience within hospitality, food service or retail is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
- Flexible approach to working early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Pay Range
£14.87—£14.87 GBP
