Key Account Director

As the Key Account Director (KAD), you will drive sustainable, long-term revenue growth and profitability for a company by strategically managing its most valuable and high-potential client relationships.

Algeco UK is the leader in modular accommodation not only in the UK but around the world. We provide more buildings for hire than anyone else, including modular buildings for sale and rent, and off-site permanent buildings for sale for temporary, semi-permanent and permanent use.

What You Will Be Doing

Working with Other Functions

  • You will be responsible for:
    • A close effective relationship with the Key Account ISE team to ensure appropriate focus and follow up on customer requirements
    • Clear effective communication of customer requirements to all Algeco employees charged with delivering excellent customer service
    • Building strong working relationships with service center management to promote and deliver consistently high customer quality and service
    • Ensuring company policy on financial discipline, contract profitability and credit provision is strictly adhered to
    • Work closely with OSS and Modular rental to ensure opportunities for regulation compliant products are identified and followed up to maximum success
    • Strong working relationship with credit control to ensure customer queries are minimised and resolved in a timely manner and customer payment profiles are maintained within agreed terms
    • Act as the internal “voice of the customer” across departments

Working with Our Customers

  • You will be responsible for:
    • Championing customer satisfaction, encouraging retention and quality service and exceeding the UK NPS target
    • Building and maintaining multi layered relationships with the influential people within our key customers’ organisations
    • Developing customer plans, in conjunction with customers, which position Algeco as a key supply chain partner across all functions maximising the involvement of key functional leads

Supporting Sales Strategy

  • You will be responsible for:
    • Developing and implementing strategic account plans for customers within your allocated portfolio
    • Working with the UK Key Accounts Director to support the development and implementation of customer specific sales strategies
    • Identifying and developing proposals for existing & emerging markets, product development & innovation and customer solutions
    • Collecting, monitoring and messaging status of market and competitor landscape
    • Understand customer strategy, market position, pain points, and success drivers
    • Provide solutions that align to both customer needs and company capabilities

Protecting and Growing Our Sales Revenues

  • You will be responsible for:
    • Strategically and profitably, protect and grow revenue from your allocated portfolio of key accounts
    • Identifying opportunities for new products and services that will strengthen our offering to our customers and deliver required return on investment
    • Delivering quality sales proposals in response to tenders and enquiries from customers
    • Ensuring company determined boundaries and hand-offs between sales functions are followed on a day to day basis

  • You will be responsible for:
    • Actively participating in the Key Accounts team, and in wider business environments, embracing company culture, vision and strategy
    • The support of other team members sharing experience, knowledge and best practice
    • Demonstrating adherence to corporate policy and procedure, and legislative requirements
    • Effectively identifying, coordinating and leading key personnel within opportunity teams to ensure we maximise our opportunity win rate
    • Supplying sufficient, accurate information and account strategies to the Key Account ISE team to allow them to support account growth and to accurately and effectively process orders
    • Taking an active part in developing and closing opportunities for accounts owned within your portfolio of accounts

You will need to be someone that:

  • Promotes a customer first mind-set and understands the commercial need to balance that approach with business financial returns

  • Takes pride in their excellent sales skills and constantly strives for further improvement
  • Is not averse to change and can communicate process improvements effectively
  • Follows the company processes and standards to the letter of the law
  • Has a full driving licence
