Your Role:

As a National Key Account Instruments Sales Manager, you will combine your optometry expertise and commercial skills to drive the growth of EssilorLuxottica's industry-leading Instruments portfolio across key optical groups and strategic customers in the UK.

Acting as a trusted clinical and commercial partner, you will work closely with buyers and procurement teams, and senior decision-makers to identify opportunities, deliver innovative diagnostic and treatment solutions, and improve patient outcomes. Your clinical credibility, combined with a strong commercial mindset, will be instrumental in expanding EssilorLuxottica's presence, securing preferred supplier status, and driving sustainable business growth.

Working with national and regional optical groups, you will develop strategic partnerships, lead customer engagements, and create opportunities to increase the adoption of innovative technologies and solutions across the patient journey, including myopia management, dry eye, and other emerging clinical areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious optometrist who is passionate about eye care innovation and is looking to move into a highly commercial, customer-facing role with a global industry leader.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans for key accounts, driving sales, market share, and profitability across the Instruments portfolio.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with senior stakeholders, procurement teams, clinical leaders, and practice decision-makers.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities while expanding EssilorLuxottica's presence across diagnostic, treatment, and practice solutions.
  • Deliver ambitious revenue, margin, and growth targets through effective account management and commercial execution.
  • Position EssilorLuxottica as the preferred partner for instrumentation and clinical solutions across customer groups.
  • Lead customer negotiations, tenders, product presentations, business reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to customers, demonstrating the value of innovative technologies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers and cross-functional teams to maximise opportunities across Instruments, Lenses, Frames, and Wearables.
  • Drive successful product launches, promotional initiatives, and customer engagement activities that accelerate adoption and sales performance.
  • Use market insights, customer data, and forecasting to identify opportunities, optimise commercial plans, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with operational, service, and logistics teams to ensure excellent customer experience, service delivery, and product availability.
  • Monitor account performance, pipeline development, and commercial results, implementing actions to achieve continuous growth.

Main Requirements:

  • Qualified Optometrist with strong clinical understanding of optometry and the patient journey, with the ability to engage credibly with optical professionals and key decision-makers.
  • Experience within the optical industry, ideally with exposure to diagnostic instruments, ophthalmic equipment, myopia management, dry eye solutions, or other clinical technologies.
  • Commercial experience in sales, business development, key account management, practice leadership, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and influence purchasing decisions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, develop account strategies, and drive business growth.
  • Ability to translate clinical and technical information into compelling customer value propositions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse performance, forecast opportunities, and make informed business decisions.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and functions.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic commercial environment.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
