About the Role
A fast-growing payments business powering recurring commerce is hiring an Account Manager. Its infrastructure unifies and optimises how businesses take payments across cards, open banking and account-to-account, backed by deep sector expertise and a partnership-led service. They are scaling quickly, and this seat has a clear path upward as they do.
This is a field-first commercial role, not a remote account-servicing one. You will own 10 to 15 of the company's top merchant accounts and be the person who grows them.
Responsibilities
- Own and exceed commercial targets across your portfolio: revenue growth, upsell, cross-sell and retention
- Spend 25%+ of your time in front of customers, acting as their day-to-day strategic advisor and commercial lead
- Map each merchant from C-suite to day-to-day contacts, and bring the right internal people to each level
- Identify, scope and close upsell and cross-sell across the full product suite, and lead renewals, pricing negotiations and proposals
- Build account plans, run in-person QBRs, maintain relationship maps, and flag coverage gaps to leadership
- Track account health, transaction trends and adoption using Excel, Looker, Metabase and AI tools, and forecast revenue and risk accurately
- Become the product expert on the payments and integration suite, and carry the voice of the customer into the roadmap
- Work across Integrations, Product, Finance and Commercial, and mentor newer team members

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Reporting
Reports to the Head of Operations. Hybrid, minimum three days a week in the London office.
Why This Role
Hybrid, three days a week in the London office, and the days in the office are the point. This is a team that loves to learn, with a culture people actually stay for. The senior team has spent the last year ramping and scaling the business hard, and it is working. They are now looking for the next superstar to grow with it: someone who wants a bigger portfolio, a bigger title, and a bigger number as the company grows, and who will put in the work to earn all three.
You report to the Head of Operations. There is a clear path upward, and it is real, because the people above you got there the same way.
