Key Account Manager

On-site in Newbury, Berkshire | Full Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Account Manager or commercially minded customer-facing professional looking to develop your career within a cutting-edge engineering environment?

We are partnering with a rapidly expanding advanced manufacturing company that supplies highly engineered solutions to customers operating in sectors including aerospace, defence, energy, space and high-technology industries. Following significant investment and ambitious growth plans, the business is looking to appoint a Key Account Manager to support and develop a portfolio of strategic customer accounts.

The Role

As Key Account Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day commercial management of key customer accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery while supporting long-term account growth. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams, you will act as the primary commercial contact for customers and play a vital role in maintaining strong relationships and identifying new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts, ensuring outstanding service and account performance.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across procurement, engineering, quality and programme teams.
  • Prepare quotations and support commercial activities within established pricing frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, repeat business and upselling.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and pipeline activity.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of customer requirements.
  • Support customer review meetings and provide commercial and operational updates.
  • Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to support wider business strategy.

About You

  • Experience within B2B account management, internal sales or commercial roles.
  • Experience with long sale cycles.
  • Able to demonstrate achievements with accounts.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience preparing quotations, managing customer enquiries and coordinating orders.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach with strong communication skills.
