Key Account Manager - Dental Imaging & Diagnostics
Location: National (Manchester, Birmingham or the Home Counties would suit well)
Package: Competitive base salary + strong bonus structure, company car, plus benefits
Consult is an independent global healthcare and scientific recruitment consultancy, connecting commercial talent with aspirational organizations worldwide.
Our client is an established international player in dental imaging and diagnostics technology, offering a connected digital platform spanning 2D/3D imaging, intraoral scanning and AI-assisted treatment planning software. They're now looking for someone to own and grow their distributor network in-country.
This is a channel-first role. You won't be selling direct to end users day-to-day, you'll be building, coaching and holding accountable the partners who do. If you've spent your career getting distributors to actually perform rather than just sign an agreement and hope for the best, this is built for you.
What you'll be doing
- Building and managing a network of distribution partners across the territory - screening, segmenting and onboarding new ones where there are gaps in coverage or capability
- Setting up distribution agreements and running the onboarding process end to end
- Writing account development plans with marketing, sales specialists and field service, then actually driving them
- Running regular business reviews with distributors - not box-ticking, genuinely pushing sell-out performance
- Protecting and growing share of wallet through relationships that last, not one good quarter
- Owning the forecasting - funnel reviews, CRM discipline, numbers people can trust
- Getting into the detail with distributors on live opportunities - bringing in specialist support, promotions or discounts where it moves the deal
- Keeping an eye on distributor inventory and sell-out, not just sell-in
- Feeding into local commercial strategy alongside regional and global leadership
- Coaching junior sales team members and coordinating specialists in-country

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll bring
- At least 3 years in dental sales, ideally with IOS and/or imaging experience.
- Real experience through the indirect channel - you understand how distributors think and what actually motivates performance
- A consultative sales style - this isn't a hard-close role
- Comfort with digital and technical products and the ability to translate complex tech into something a distributor's sales team can actually sell
- A track record of hitting ambitious growth targets, not just being present for them
- Strong organisational skills - you'll be running multiple distributor relationships and projects at once
- Genuine enjoyment of coaching and training others on technical applications
- Fluent English; strong MS Office skills, CRM experience useful
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not a dealbreaker if the experience stacks up
