Key Account Manager

About the Role

As a Key Account Manager, you will play a key role in developing and strengthening strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering solutions that meet our customers’ evolving needs.

You will be responsible for managing key accounts, developing sales strategies, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a strong customer focus and a passion for developing long-term commercial relationships.

Responsibilities

Sales & Account Management

  • Develop a deep understanding of customers' businesses, strategic objectives, and operational requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and close contracts to maximize business opportunities and profitability.
  • Provide accurate monthly sales pipeline forecasts, ensuring alignment with business targets.
  • Manage key accounts throughout the customer lifecycle, identifying opportunities to increase engagement and revenue.

Strategic Planning

  • Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth within existing accounts.
  • Target and develop new conquest accounts, leveraging cross-functional resources across the business.
  • Develop and execute account strategies aligned with customer needs and company objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities and inform sales strategies.

Customer Centricity

  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of Carrier solutions in line with customer requirements and objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all customer account management matters.
  • Proactively manage customer expectations and resolve complex or challenging issues to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Build a strong understanding of customer needs and translate these into effective commercial and technical solutions.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure sales and aftersales solutions meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with our network of service partners to respond quickly and effectively to customer requirements and issues, while developing strong local relationships.
  • Partner with European Product teams to understand customer requirements and ensure appropriate solutions are delivered.
  • Work cross-functionally with relevant teams to support business growth and deliver a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Degree-level education is desirable but not essential.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Key Account Manager, Account Manager, Sales Manager, or similar commercial role.
  • Experience within the transport refrigeration industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial and customer relationship management experience.
  • Good technical knowledge would be an advantage.

Skills

  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and customer relationships simultaneously.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, such as Salesforce, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and teams.
  • A proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

  • Location: Remote-based, with occasional travel to the Carrier head office in Warrington.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel frequently for customer meetings, sales meetings, and industry events. Some overnight stays will be required.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between £42,000.00-£84,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
