Key Account Manager

What You Will Do

As a Key Account Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and execution of Johnson Controls' strategic account management strategy. Working with a portfolio of high-value, high-opportunity customers, you will be responsible for strengthening customer relationships, driving profitable growth, and delivering exceptional account performance. You will focus on retaining and expanding business within assigned accounts by identifying new opportunities across the Johnson Controls portfolio, increasing wallet share, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver value-driven solutions that support both customer objectives and business growth targets.

How You Will Do It

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned key customers.
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships across customer organisations.
  • Drive account retention, revenue growth, and profitability within named accounts.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the Johnson Controls portfolio.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals, and pricing discussions.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address business challenges and risks.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, service, and business leaders to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Analyse account performance and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and present business reviews, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline and account activity information within CRM systems.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • Proven experience in Key Account Management, Strategic Account Management, or B2B Sales.
  • Strong track record of delivering revenue growth and customer retention.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and stakeholder networks.
  • Excellent negotiation, commercial, and influencing skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and accounts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales performance reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Preferred:

  • Experience selling integrated solutions or services within a technical or building technologies environment.
  • Knowledge of service contracts, facilities management, fire, security, HVAC, or smart building solutions.
  • Experience working with enterprise or multinational customers.
  • Degree-level qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline.
