National Account Manager

Based in London, the National Account Manager will manage and grow key UK retail partnerships across e-commerce and brick-and-mortar channels. This role combines strategic account management with hands-on commercial execution, developing retailer-specific sales strategies, leading negotiations, monitoring sales and inventory, managing forecasts and purchase orders, and identifying opportunities across CRM, loyalty, GWPs, marketing, and in-store activity.

Responsibilities

Retail Partner Relationships

  • Develop seasonal programs with retail partners across e-commerce and brick-and-mortar channels.
  • Lead negotiations on terms, pricing, distribution, space, in-store visibility, and marketing support.
  • Lead new product presentations, account reviews, and strategic retailer meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with retailer Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, E-commerce, Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Spend time in the field reviewing execution, door productivity, customer experience, and competitive activity.

Driving Performance

  • Develop annual account plans, P&Ls, and seasonal sales strategies to deliver sales, profit, distribution, and brand-ranking objectives.
  • Develop and research strategies utilizing CRM, loyalty programs, GWPs, and other sales drivers to increase e-commerce and brick-and-mortar sales.
  • Conduct competitive analyses to identify market trends, retailer opportunities, competitive threats, and areas for brand growth.
  • Maintain Joint Business Plans and evaluate progress against agreed commercial and marketing objectives.

Inventory Management and Forecasting

  • Analyze weekly sales by retailer, door, channel, and SKU, including units, sales value, performance against plan and last year, and door productivity.
  • Identify performance changes, risks, and opportunities, with clear recommended actions.
  • Manage sales forecasts for new launches and core lines, quantifying revenue risks, opportunities, and required adjustments.
  • Monitor out-of-stocks, low-stock positions, weeks of supply, excess inventory, promotional requirements, and launch readiness.
  • Track incoming purchase orders from receipt through delivery, proactively addressing delays, outstanding requirements, and next actions.
  • Identify incremental purchase-order opportunities based on sell-through, inventory, door productivity, and forecasted demand.
  • Review assortment, distribution, and productivity by SKU and shelf, while minimizing returns, testers, and slow-moving inventory.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
