Are you based in or around the Kilmarnock area? Do you have experience in sales or account management?

Jewson, leading building materials distributor, is on the hunt for a Key Account Manager who's as passionate about great service as we are.

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing relationships of our large key account within the SME housebuilder community.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30 – 17:00 based in our sales office above branch, in Staines (TW18 2BE).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work closely with the Business Development Director to develop effective supplier relationships to maximise customer sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer procurement teams, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Site Agents.
  • Maximise opportunities to continually learn about new products and to improve selling skills.
  • Develop, own and manage key accounts.
  • Supporting the achievement of sales targets of new products whilst maintaining growth on existing products.
  • Seek out opportunities to identify future and existing sales opportunities within the area.
  • Working closely with branch teams to deliver outstanding service.

  • Knowledge of the construction or building materials sector, is essential.
  • Experience of managing a portfolio or working towards account growth on specific customers.
  • Pipeline and opportunity management.
  • Forecasting and reporting.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Problem solving.
  • Awareness of pricing, supply chain and procurement process.
