Key Account Manager supporting our new site at Aycliffe covering Durham, Tees Valley, Middlesbrough and North Yorkshire.

Role Description

This is a full-time, Key Account Manager role based at Masfix’s Newton Aycliffe facility. The Key Account Manager will oversee and grow relationships with key customers, acting as the primary point of contact for all commercial and service-related matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing account portfolios, understanding customer requirements, developing tailored solutions, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and stock availability. The role involves preparing account plans, monitoring performance against targets, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling, and providing regular reports and forecasts to management. The Key Account Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support the implementation of VMI and other stock management solutions, and represent Masfix professionally at customer meetings and site visits.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Account Management and handling Key Accounts in a B2B environment.
  • Strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, track KPIs, and inform Business Planning and forecasting.
  • Proven Customer Service capabilities, with a focus on building long-term, trust-based relationships.
  • Experience in Business Planning, including developing account strategies and growth plans.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Solid understanding of industrial distribution, fixings and fasteners, tools, or related sectors (or willingness to learn quickly).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales, operations, and logistics teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Competence in using CRM systems and standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
  • Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel to customer sites as required.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or degree in business, sales, or a related field is advantageous, though equivalent experience is valued.
