Key Account Manager – Specification

The Zumtobel Group is an international lighting group and a leading supplier of innovative lighting solutions, lighting components and associated services. With its core brands, Zumtobel, Thorn and Tridonic, the Group offers its customers around the world a comprehensive portfolio of products and services.

We are recruiting for a Key Account Manager to join our specification team in London. The aim is to grow our already strong key territories focusing on architects. This area is key to our future success in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the area sales budget, driving performance to meet and exceed agreed revenue and growth targets.
  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with architects, proactively developing new networks while nurturing and expanding existing partnerships.
  • Create and execute a robust sales plan that aligns seamlessly with wider regional strategies to maximise market impact.
  • Analyse sector trends, drivers and opportunities, translating insight into clear strategies and targeted actions that deliver sustainable growth.
  • Champion an exceptional customer experience, providing professional, responsive and value-led service at every stage of the client journey.
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales and lighting design teams, embracing a team-based approach to win projects and deliver outstanding results.

  • You bring experience from the lighting, construction, or building services sector, with a solid understanding of specification-led sales environments.
  • You have a proven ability to build profitable, long-term partnerships, underpinned by a strong commercial mindset and a focus on sustainable growth.
  • You’re comfortable managing administrative activities, and while experience with Salesforce is a plus, it’s not essential, we’ll support you as you learn.
  • You’re a confident and engaging communicator, with the ability to present ideas clearly and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • You’re a natural relationship builder who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and always puts the customer at the centre of everything you do.
  • You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • You approach challenges with a positive, solutions-focused attitude and have a genuine interest in technology and innovation.
  • You’re curious by nature, with a strong desire to learn, improve, and continuously develop your skills.
  • You’re highly competent with systems and tools, including MS Office, with experience of SAP and Salesforce being beneficial.
