About the Role

We're looking for a Key Account Manager / Client Relationship Manager to build and grow relationships with the customers and partners who matter most to us. This isn't a transactional sales role — it's about becoming a trusted point of contact for clients across several sectors and helping to shape a pipeline built on quality, not just volume.

You'll represent a business that delivers a genuine end-to-end service, from design through to installation and maintenance, and you'll be someone who understands that the strength of our reputation is what wins us repeat business and referrals. Your job is to protect and grow that reputation, one relationship at a time.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building long-term, trusted relationships with key accounts across the fire protection and sprinkler sector
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities with clients, contractors, and partners whose values and quality standards align with ours
  • Working closely with principal contractors, developers, consultants, and facilities managers to understand their pipeline and position us early
  • Representing the business at industry events, trade bodies, and networking forums to build visibility and credibility in the sector
  • Collaborating with our technical and delivery teams to ensure what we promise at the relationship stage is what we deliver on site
  • Feeding market and competitor intelligence back into the business to help shape our commercial strategy
  • Be the first point of contact for clients and to escalate issues if needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a client-facing, business development, or account management role — ideally within fire protection, sprinklers, M&E, or the wider construction and built environment sector
  • A genuine relationship-builder: someone who listens first, follows through, and earns trust over time rather than chasing a quick close.
  • Comfortable operating at a senior level with principal contractors, developers, and consultants
  • An understanding of construction project lifecycles and how specification and procurement decisions get made
  • Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage a pipeline across multiple live relationships at once.
  • Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to close profitable deals.
  • A full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events
