I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll be supported by a marketing team generating leads, but you won't be relying on them. This is a role for someone who takes ownership of their territory, keeps their pipeline in shape and goes after business with purpose. Package includes a company car or car allowance, full product training, and uncapped commission with real earning potential on top of a strong base.
About The Candidate
You'll have proven B2B field sales experience, ideally selling consumable products face-to-face into end users. What matters for this role is that you understand margin, can hold a commercial conversation, and are as comfortable hunting new business as you are nurturing existing accounts. You'll need a full driving licence, strong CRM discipline and the ability to work independently without needing to be chased. This is a role for someone who's self-motivated, commercially sharp and ready to make a territory their own.
