Great client relationships are built on more than good service: they depend on consistent delivery, clear communication, and knowing exactly what matters to the customer. As Key Account Manager, you'll take ownership of important client relationships while leading service delivery and helping turn strong accounts into long-term commercial partnerships.

You'll sit at the center of the relationship between customers and operational teams, making sure expectations are met, issues are resolved, and performance continues to improve.

Alongside managing accounts, you'll lead a team of maintenance controllers and use performance data, customer feedback, and industry knowledge to identify improvements and commercial opportunities.

Your responsibilities as Key Account Manager

  • Take ownership of key client relationships, handling enquiries, escalations, and regular review meetings while ensuring agreed KPIs are achieved.
  • Lead a team of maintenance controllers, ensuring maintenance, compliance, and wider fleet services are delivered effectively and on time.
  • Produce MI packs and performance reporting, giving clients clear insight into account performance, projects, and areas requiring action.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve service issues, incorporate customer feedback, and continuously improve delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through relevant additional services while keeping up to date with customer operations and industry developments.
  • Support team performance through objectives, development reviews, training requirements, and regular reporting to senior operational leadership.

What we're looking for in a Key Account Manager

  • Proven experience within fleet operations, logistics, transport, or fleet management, including responsibility for leading teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK transport regulations, Operator Licensing, and relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience managing important customer accounts, performance measures, and service delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use performance information to support decisions and recommendations.
  • Competence using Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and fleet management software.
  • German language skills would be advantageous.
