Key Account Manager – London, On-Trade (Field Based)

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an experienced, ambitious, commercially minded Key Account Manager to drive profitable growth across London's on-trade channel. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with high volume operators, independent pub companies, bars, restaurants and managed groups, whilst working closely with our key route to market partners to maximise distribution, visibility and rate of sale.

The successful candidate will combine strong commercial capability with a deep understanding of the London on-trade landscape, leveraging industry relationships and market knowledge to identify opportunities, influence decision-makers and deliver sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Business Development
  • Developing JBP’s with key customers in London
  • Build and deliver a growth pipeline
  • Execute a sales strategy, in line with the wider business
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Strong understanding of the market and category and able to influence and advise on this
  • Passionately present to key partners and stakeholders
  • Best in class route to market management
  • Develop an activation calendar that’s executed to the highest standard
  • Organise and understand the value of trade events
  • Work in collaboration with the on-trade sales and customer service teams
  • Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline management through CRM systems
  • Deliver regular business updates and performance reviews
  • Present to the wider commercial team
  • Become the face of the brand in London and a true Thatchers brand advocate

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will bring proven experience within the UK on-trade sector, supported by an existing network and strong understanding of the London on-trade market. They will have a track record of managing and developing key customers, delivering new business and driving profitable account growth. A strong understanding of route to market structures, wholesalers and how to influence distribution is essential, alongside excellent commercial negotiation and influencing skills. They will be highly analytical, confident using data and insights to inform decision-making, and able to work independently while managing a large geographical territory.
