About the role
We’re looking for a high-impact Key Account Manager to take ownership of one of our most significant long-term utility partnerships – a major regional water provider serving millions of customers across the North West of England.
This is a commercially critical role where you will own the account strategy end-to-end—driving growth across capital projects (pump packages and related equipment) and aftermarket services, while shaping the future of a well-established, high-value relationship.
Your main responsibilities:
- Own the P&L and growth strategy for a utility account, with clear accountability for revenue and margin performance
- Drive the narrative with the customer—positioning us as a trusted, strategic partner across both capital investment and lifecycle services
- Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary account team, ensuring alignment across sales, service, engineering, and delivery
- Build and deepen senior stakeholder relationships, influencing decision-making at operational and strategic levels
- Develop and execute a long-term account development plan, aligned to the customer’s AMP cycles and investment priorities
- Provide accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring continuous improvement and delivery excellence

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
