About Us

iMist has been successfully trading across the UK for 11 years within the domestic and residential fire suppression sector. We are in dynamic growth mode, so it is exciting and fast-paced. We do everything in-house because we want to maintain our reputation for quality and agility. If you are driven by the opportunity for success and you're able to work in an organised and methodical manner, we have an opportunity for you within our sales team.

The Opportunity

Wales represents a significant, currently under-served growth opportunity for iMist. The Welsh housing sector is substantial, with ongoing new-build, regeneration and retrofit activity across both private developers and housing associations, and Welsh fire safety regulation is notably strict relative to other UK nations — creating a natural, compliance-led conversation for a proactive Key Account Manager to open.

This role is being created as we bring our BS8663 accreditation online, which is expected to significantly increase our ability to compete for Welsh specifications. As our Wales Key Account Manager, you will be ideally placed to capitalise on this from day one, opening new conversations with contractors, developers and housing associations, while building the long-term account relationships that will anchor our presence in the region.

The Role

As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing accounts across Wales, based in or near Cardiff/Newport to give you easy reach across the region and its key developer, contractor and housing association head offices.

You will generate enquiries, attend client meetings throughout Wales, and build and maintain the key accounts you open.

Your role is to ensure every customer feels valued and fully understands not only the features of the iMist system, but the benefits it delivers.

You will introduce clients across Wales to the world of iMist, ensuring every interaction leaves a lasting impression in a competitive market.

With a strong awareness of strict Welsh fire safety regulations and compliance requirements, you will confidently advise customers on how iMist — including our BS8663 accreditation — supports their regulatory obligations and fire safety needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will become an integral part of our fast-growing sales team, delivering a professional and efficient experience throughout the full sales process. You will proactively generate new business from a diverse range of clients across Wales, particularly within the housing sector, introducing iMist and our innovative fire suppression solutions, generating and nurturing leads, and converting opportunities into long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead Generation: Generate leads with large contractors, developers and housing associations throughout Wales with the aim of creating long-term relationships and gaining repeat business. Cold calls and emails will be key to creating successful key accounts.
  • Telephone Consultations and Site Meetings: After you have provided the customer with our initial proposal, the next step is to finalise our layouts. To do this, you will either carry out a telephone consultation or organise an engineer to visit the site. On this call, your goal is to find out as much information about the property as possible. This step is KEY to ensure we have provided the correct specification to meet the customer's needs.
  • Sales Presentations: Give presentations on the ins and outs of iMist to potential clients and show them the benefits of us over traditional solutions.
  • CPD Workshops: Identify opportunities for our CPD team to deliver sessions dedicated to helping specifiers, contractors & developers understanding the important part mist fire suppressions systems play in saving lives, water & property
  • Relationship Building: Establish and help maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service throughout the sales process and beyond.
  • Sales Strategy: Work closely with your sales manager to implement strategies that maximise sales opportunities and drive revenue growth and hit department targets, with a particular focus on the Welsh housing sector.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the Fire Suppression sector — including ongoing compliance and accreditation developments — to ensure you can offer the most up-to-date and relevant advice to clients.
