Open doors. Build partnerships. Turn next-generation protein science into dairy growth.

MicroLub is a fast-growing food-technology company developing next-generation protein technologies for fat and oil replacement. Our technology helps manufacturers create healthier, more sustainable products without compromising the taste and texture consumers expect.

We are looking for a commercially driven Key Account Manager to build MicroLub’s presence across the Protein-Boosted Foods & Meal Replacement sector.

This is a hands-on, market-facing role for someone who understands how dairy products are developed, validated and brought to market. You will create new opportunities, develop strategic accounts and coordinate the customer journey from the first conversation through technical evaluation, trials, commercial agreement, launch and ongoing supply.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • You will build relationships with dairy manufacturers, branded producers, co-manufacturers and relevant ingredient and innovation partners.
  • Working across commercial, procurement, innovation, R&D, technical and senior leadership teams, you will identify where MicroLub’s technology can address genuine formulation, nutrition, sensory, processing or sustainability challenges.
  • You will be responsible for keeping opportunities moving, bringing the right internal and customer stakeholders together and developing the confidence needed to progress from interest to commercial application.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Build and deliver a focused commercial plan for the Protein-Boosted Foods & Meal Replacement sector.
  • Identify, engage and develop high-potential target accounts.
  • Create new opportunities through targeted outreach, referrals, industry relationships, events and collaboration with marketing.
  • Qualify and coordinate high-value inbound enquiries, ensuring prospective customers receive a responsive and well-managed experience.
  • Develop trusted relationships with commercial, procurement, innovation, R&D, technical and senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Understand each customer’s priorities and translate them into relevant applications for MicroLub’s technology.
  • Develop compelling customer propositions and commercial business cases.
  • Coordinate customer briefs, samples, demonstrations, formulation work and technical trials.
  • Manage longer and more complex sales cycles, maintaining clear actions, decision points and ownership.
  • Progress successful trials into supply agreements, forecasts, launch plans and repeatable revenue.
  • Develop structured onboarding and account-development plans through launch and into ongoing supply.
  • Take ownership of pipeline quality, account growth, commercial conversion, revenue and margin.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, account plans and sales forecasts.
  • Contribute to the development of effective CRM workflows, reporting and account-management processes.
  • Report regularly on account health, commercial performance, risks and agreed next steps.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and coordinate the necessary internal approvals.
  • Develop customer advocacy through case studies, testimonials, industry collaboration and reference relationships.
  • Represent MicroLub at customer meetings, industry events and relevant sector forums.
  • Bring customer and market insight back into the business to help shape our commercial, marketing and innovation priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
