Key Account Manager Retail
Location: Remote
Salary: up to £45,000 per annum + Car + Bonus

About the role
Reporting to the Channel Manager - National Accounts, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of Retail, Pure Player and Omnichannel accounts across CheckFire, PJ Fire and FireCycle.
This role requires someone who understands the complexities of modern retail, from category management and promotional planning through to ecommerce performance, digital visibility and omnichannel customer journeys.
As a pioneering position within the business, you will also play an important role in identifying and securing new retail opportunities, helping to broaden our customer base and strengthen our market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of Retail, Pure Player and Omnichannel accounts.
- Build strong relationships with buyers, category managers, ecommerce teams and key customer stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, margin and customer engagement across existing accounts.
- Drive account growth through upselling, cross-selling and new product introductions.
- Develop and deliver joint business plans covering ranging, pricing, promotions, product launches and marketing initiatives.
- Create omnichannel strategies that connect online and offline customer experiences.
- Optimise product visibility, merchandising, promotions and availability across digital and physical retail channels.
- Analyse customer performance data including sell-in, sell-out, conversion, traffic, market share and promotional effectiveness.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within targeted retail accounts.
- Develop strategic partnerships with key customers to support long-term growth.
- Produce accurate sales forecasts, business plans and performance reports.
- Conduct account reviews and gap analysis to identify opportunities for further growth.
- Promote the full Active Fire Division product and service offering, including Recycling, Supply Chain Solutions, Showroom Facilities and Training Academy services.
- Maintain accurate customer records and pipeline activity within HubSpot CRM.
- Ensure commercial policies and account standards are implemented consistently across the customer base.

Essential Skills & Experience
We're looking for a commercially focused Key Account Manager who combines strong relationship-building skills with a passion for driving growth.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing Retail, Ecommerce, Pure Player or Omnichannel accounts.
- A minimum of 2 years' Key Account Management experience.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Experience building and delivering account plans and sales forecasts.
- Proven success in account development and new business acquisition.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence and negotiate with customers at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive decision-making.
- Experience reviewing sales performance, promotional effectiveness and customer trends.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to account management.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using CRM systems, ideally HubSpot.

Desirable Experience
- Experience within the fire protection, fire safety, technical products or related sectors.
- Understanding of retail trading environments and ecommerce performance metrics.
- Knowledge of digital merchandising, promotional mechanics and pricing strategies.
- Experience working with ERP systems and business reporting platforms.
- Exposure to national retailers, online marketplaces and omnichannel customer strategies.
