Key Account Manager - The Opportunity

Our client is one of the UK's leading distributors of roofing materials, building materials and construction products. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Key Account Manager to manage and develop a portfolio of high-value roofing and construction contractors across the Central Belt of Scotland.

This Key Account Manager position is focused on developing existing business rather than managing smaller transactional accounts. You'll inherit an established portfolio of key customers with responsibility for increasing spend, strengthening relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities.

The territory primarily covers Glasgow and the west of the Central Belt, although applicants from anywhere across the Central Belt are encouraged to apply.

The Role

As Key Account Manager, You Will

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key customer accounts worth several million pounds annually.
  • Develop long-term relationships with roofing contractors, main contractors, housebuilders, developers and commercial construction customers.
  • Increase customer spend through proactive account management, regular customer visits and structured account planning.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional roofing products, building materials and associated construction products.
  • Work closely with branch teams to ensure exceptional customer service and account support.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial agreements and supply arrangements.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports and account plans.
  • Win additional business from existing accounts while identifying new key account opportunities.
  • Represent the business professionally across both residential and commercial roofing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
