Role Profile
Our customers across the Maritime Industry, range from governments to Fortune 500 companies, and we are looking for a Key Account Manager – Shipping to join the team and play a key role in our success in 2023 and beyond. The Key Account Manager – Shipping will develop and expand key relationships as we launch new products and expand our services to customers and prospects worldwide.
This is an excellent opportunity to employ your solutions selling experience in a B2B environment where you can gain a breadth of experiences and develop your skills within a dynamic and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Owning and developing a defined set of accounts within the EMEA region, fostering exceptional relationships to maintain current figures and hit annual uplift targets
- Proactively hunting for new business opportunities, targeting areas of the accounts that do not currently engage with our products and services
- Managing and developing understanding of assigned client base to discuss and position consulting opportunities to generate bespoke sales
- Defining and delivering a strategic sales plan across your accounts, managing a robust pipeline and prepare accurate sales forecasts, new growth ideas and contingency plans
- Partnering with internal consulting and support teams throughout the client lifecycle, from scoping custom projects to managing client deliverables
- Becoming an expert in the Intelligence product suite (subscriptions, one-time products, and consulting), our competitors and our clients, to provide excellent service & maximize sales

What we are looking for:
Essential
- At least 4 years’ experience in B2B sales/account management in a consultative and/or salutation sales environment
- At least 4 years’ experience in the shipping or maritime industry
- Proven track record in dealing with senior management in multi-national companies through a complex sale cycle
- Experience in searching and responding to tenders
- The ability to identify new revenue opportunities and maximize product potential
- An excellent written and verbal communicator, able to build successful relationships both internally and externally
- Experience using a CRM system
Desirable
- Proven experience using Salesforce
- Proficiency written and spoken in a European language
- A degree in any discipline
- Proven experience selling business intelligence, insights, market data or editorial products and/or services
