Key Account Manager - South | Technical Solutions
Up to £70,000 + Uncapped Commission | £100,000+ OTE
Hybrid / Ashbourne | South UK Territory
This isn't a traditional Key Account Manager role.
We're looking for an engineer first, salesperson second: someone with genuine technical credibility who has moved into sales and can become a trusted adviser to industrial and manufacturing customers.
The opportunity is about getting under the skin of a customer's operation, identifying challenges and future opportunities, and working with Engineering and Applications teams to shape innovative material-movement, technology and automation solutions.
You'll be encouraged to create opportunities, introduce customers to the wider MasterMover product and technology range, and develop forward-thinking solutions rather than simply manage accounts.
The Role
You'll take ownership of key customers and opportunities across the South, combining existing account development with new opportunity creation.
You'll be responsible for:
- Getting on-site and understanding customer operations
- Identifying problems, inefficiencies, automation opportunities and future requirements
- Scoping technically led solutions across innovative products, technology and automation
- Working alongside Engineering and Applications teams to turn customer challenges into engineered solutions
- Developing opportunities from initial discussion through proposal, negotiation and order
- Increasing the breadth and value of solutions within existing customers, including automation-led opportunities
- Building relationships where customers involve you before they've decided exactly what they need

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For
Your background could be in engineering, material handling, intralogistics, automation, robotics, conveyors, capital equipment, machinery, process equipment, controls or another engineered solutions environment.
The exact product isn't the most important thing. Your engineering foundation and ability to understand how things work are.

- Technical Account Manager
You'll need the personality and commercial ability to build and nurture customer relationships, uncover opportunities and confidently progress business through proposal, negotiation and close.
