Key Account Manager – Transport Data

Today Tracsis is a leading provider of software, hardware, data analytics/GIS and services for the rail, traffic data and wider transport industries. The Group has c.550 permanent employees serving its growing customer base from offices in the UK, Ireland and the US.

The Role

We're looking for a commercially minded Transport Data Key Account Manager to drive growth across the UK transport sector. This is a customer-facing role focused on developing new business opportunities, growing strategic accounts, and helping customers maximise value from Tracsis' Transport Data solutions.

You'll work closely with local authorities, transport planners, consultancies, and infrastructure stakeholders, building trusted relationships and identifying opportunities to deliver transport insights through traffic surveys, digital ANPR, mobility analytics, active travel data, and AI-enabled solutions.

This role combines business development, account management, commercial leadership, and team management. You'll collaborate across Sales, Delivery, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to deliver an excellent customer experience and support sustainable business growth.

What you will do

Business Development & Account Growth

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across the UK transport market.
  • Develop new business through customer engagement, networking, partnerships, events, and industry relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through cross-sell and upsell activity.
  • Promote Tracsis' Transport Data portfolio, including traffic surveys, origin-destination studies, digital ANPR, active travel analytics, FlowIQ, and Conduit services.

  • Develop trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders at a range of levels.
  • Understand customer priorities, programmes, and challenges to position solutions effectively.
  • Support customer retention, renewals, and long-term account development.
  • Act as a key point of contact, helping to ensure a positive and consistent customer experience.

Commercial Leadership

  • Oversee pricing, quoting, and proposal activity within the Transport Data division.
  • Lead and support the Quoting Team to deliver accurate, competitive, and commercially sound proposals.
  • Work closely with Operational and Delivery teams to ensure opportunities are achievable, profitable, and aligned with resource plans.
  • Maintain strong commercial governance and margin management.

Pipeline & Forecast Management

  • Manage opportunities through the sales lifecycle and maintain accurate forecasts.
  • Ensure CRM records are up to date and opportunities are appropriately qualified.
  • Support reporting and planning through data-driven forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial, legal, and governance requirements.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Delivery, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to support customer success and business growth.
  • Contribute market insight and customer feedback to help shape products and services.
  • Support continuous improvement across sales processes, quoting, customer experience, and delivery handovers.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, creating an inclusive and collaborative environment.
  • Set clear objectives and support individual development and progression.
  • Encourage engagement, feedback, and continuous learning.
  • Champion Tracsis values of Progression, Integrity, Collaboration, and Ownership.

About You

We're interested in people who can demonstrate many of the following skills and experiences. If you don't meet every requirement but feel you'd be a strong fit, we'd still encourage you to apply.

Essential

  • Experience in Business Development, Account Management, or a similar commercial role within transport data, transport planning, mobility analytics, infrastructure, or a related sector.
  • Knowledge of Transport Data services such as traffic surveys, origin-destination studies, digital ANPR, or transport modelling inputs.
  • Experience working with pricing, quoting, proposals, or commercial operations.
  • A track record of growing customer relationships and delivering commercial results.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across operational, commercial, and leadership teams.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong organisational skills and commercial awareness.

Desirable

  • Experience working with UK local authorities, transport consultancies, planning teams, or engineering organisations.
  • Knowledge of GIS, location intelligence, or transport analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with broader transport and infrastructure data services.
