Key Account Manager – West to Mid UK

Remote / Home Based | West & Central England

Package: Up to £45k basic salary, £5k car allowance and up to 20% bonus paid bi-annually

The Company

Our client is enjoying a period of significant growth, with double-digit gains across its healthcare, education and retail channels.

As part of this continued growth, they are expanding their national team and looking to appoint a driven and ambitious Key Account Manager to cover the West and central band of England.

This is a home-based, field-facing role for someone with genuine ambition and a strong appetite to win new business and grow within account management. There is a clear path to progress into a National Account Manager role as you build your track record within the business.

The Role

Reporting into the Sales and Marketing Director, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing new business and managing key accounts across the territory.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively prospecting and winning new business within the healthcare, education and retail growth sectors
  • Building and converting a strong new business pipeline
  • Owning and growing relationships with key accounts, acting as the main point of contact across the territory
  • Delivering against agreed sales, margin and retention targets
  • Presenting performance and forecasts to the leadership team
  • Developing account plans to maximise listings, distribution and like-for-like growth
  • Presenting new product ranges, working closely with NPD, Marketing and Customer Service teams
  • Supporting pricing, promotions and Joint Business Plan negotiations within agreed commercial guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and reporting on pipeline, activity and market trends
  • Representing the business at trade shows, customer events and industry forums across the region

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in account management, field sales or business development
  • Ideally, experience within foodservice, wholesale, healthcare, education or retail
  • Previous National Account Management experience is not essential
  • A hungry, ambitious and driven approach, with a genuine appetite to win new business and build a career in account management
  • Strong communication skills with commercial instincts and a persuasive, consultative style
  • A self-motivated and organised approach, with the ability to work autonomously from a home base
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the territory
  • A passion for food and an understanding of the food-to-go market

Package & Additional Information

  • Remote / home-based role
  • Ideally based in Bristol or surrounding areas
  • Territory covering the West and central band of England
  • Up to £45k basic salary
  • £5k car allowance
  • Up to 20% of basic salary bonus, paid bi-annually
  • Occasional visits to the Essex head office
  • Genuine progression route into a National Account Manager position
