As we continue to grow, we are looking for experienced Key Account Managers to manage and develop our Tier 1 customer portfolio, ensuring we remain the partner of choice for some of the UK's largest contractors and organisations.
The Role
As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Tier 1 national accounts, building strategic relationships with key stakeholders and identifying opportunities to increase revenue across existing customers.
Working closely with major contractors, developers, public sector organisations and national commercial customers, you will develop account growth strategies, secure repeat business and maximise project opportunities across multiple regions.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing and developing a portfolio of Tier 1 national accounts, building long-term strategic partnerships.
- Creating and delivering account development plans to maximise revenue, profitability and customer retention.
- Building relationships with senior decision-makers and influencers across customer organisations.
- Identifying upcoming projects and securing early engagement opportunities.
- Working collaboratively with our Design and Operations teams to deliver commercially competitive solutions.
- Preparing quotations, proposals and framework submissions tailored to customer requirements.
- Managing opportunities from enquiry through to order, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Monitoring account performance, market activity and competitor intelligence to identify opportunities for growth.
- Representing Pickerings Hire professionally, reinforcing our reputation for quality, reliability and outstanding customer service.

About You
We're looking for commercially driven Key Account Managers with experience managing major customer relationships within the temporary or modular buildings sector.
You Will Have
- A proven track record of managing and growing strategic or Tier 1 customer accounts.
- Experience selling temporary or modular building solutions or related construction products and services.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence senior decision-makers and develop long-term customer partnerships.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience identifying opportunities to increase customer spend and retention.
- Experience preparing quotations, proposals and working alongside technical and operational teams to deliver customer solutions.
- An established network within construction, infrastructure, education, healthcare or related sectors.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
