Key Accounts Administrator
South Shropshire
Permanent
£28,000 - £30,000
Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm
We're looking for a Key Accounts Administrator to join a growing commercial business and play a central role in delivering an excellent customer experience. This is a varied, hands-on role that sits across customer service, sales support and operational coordination. You'll be involved throughout the customer journey, from the initial enquiry and quotation through to delivery and aftersales support.
You'll work closely with sales, operations and account management colleagues, developing a strong understanding of customers, products and internal processes. For the right person, there is a clear opportunity to develop into a Key Accounts Manager role over time.
You'll be responsible for keeping customer projects moving smoothly and ensuring that customers receive clear, professional and reliable support throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Quoting: Prepare customer quotations and proactively follow up enquiries.
- Specifications: Produce accurate specification documents for bespoke projects.
- Purchasing: Place and track supplier orders, ensuring requirements are met and projects stay on schedule.
- Scheduling: Coordinate work with operational teams, balancing customer requirements with available capacity.
- Customer liaison: Act as a reliable and friendly point of contact, keeping customers informed and managing expectations.
- Supplier liaison: Build effective supplier relationships and resolve issues quickly when they arise.
- Aftersales: Handle customer queries and warranty matters, maintaining a high standard of service after completion.
- Problem solving: Identify potential issues early and take action before they affect the customer or project.
- Administration: Maintain accurate records, information and documentation across multiple live projects.

No two days will be quite the same. You'll be the person helping to connect what the customer needs with what the wider business is delivering.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and enjoys working in a role where customer contact and operational coordination go hand in hand.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in customer service, sales support, account management or administration, preferably in a role involving both customers and operational coordination.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and priorities.
- Good numerical and attention-to-detail skills, particularly when preparing quotations and specifications.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A natural curiosity and a practical approach to solving problems.
- The resilience and composure to manage several live projects at once.
- Good working knowledge of standard office software, including Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with CRM or quoting systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
