The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Laboratory of Viral Diseases (LVD) in Bethesda, Maryland. This position offers an exciting opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research on the pathogenesis and immunology of viral infections. The successful candidate will be involved in designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the publication of research findings.

Responsibilities

- Investigating host-pathogen interactions in viral infections.
- Developing and utilizing molecular and cellular biology techniques.
- Performing immunological assays to study adaptive and innate immune responses.
- Analyzing high-throughput sequencing data.
- Maintaining detailed experimental records and contributing to manuscript preparation.
- Collaborating with colleagues within LVD and across NIAID.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant biological science (e.g., virology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry). Strong expertise in molecular biology techniques, including cloning, PCR, and Western blotting, is essential. Experience with cell culture, primary immune cell isolation and culture, and flow cytometry is highly desirable. Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and experience in analyzing next-generation sequencing data are considered a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
