Year 6 Teacher - Duckmanton Primary School

About You…
You must have the ability to engage, inspire and motivate both pupils and colleagues, and have the strategic vision to be part of the team moving our vibrant school forward.
With just 18 pupils in our Year 6 cohort, this is a fantastic opportunity to teach a small class where every child can be known, supported and challenged to achieve their best. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Year 6 and will be an experienced Upper Key Stage 2 practitioner with a proven track record of raising standards and improving outcomes for pupils. They will be able to demonstrate excellent classroom practice, including a strong understanding of how children learn and how to accelerate progress for all learners.
They will be skilled in preparing pupils for the end of Key Stage 2, using assessment effectively to identify next steps and secure strong progress in English and mathematics. They will be able to forge excellent relationships with colleagues, parents and, most importantly, our children.
We are looking for a team player who is an exceptional teacher of English and mathematics, with the knowledge, expertise and ambition to inspire children’s learning across the wider curriculum. The successful candidate will be committed to achieving the very best outcomes for every child and will play a key role in continuing to raise standards across the school.

This is a particularly exciting time to join Duckmanton Primary School. From January, the school will be led by a new Headteacher, bringing fresh energy, ambition and vision as we continue our journey of improvement and success. As the current Year 6 teacher transitions into this role, the successful candidate will benefit from extensive support, guidance and continuity, ensuring a smooth induction into the school and the opportunity to build on the strong foundations already in place.
