We are a happy, caring primary school with approximately 220 wonderful children, a dedicated and enthusiastic staff team and a strong sense of community. Situated alongside Gentleshaw Common, we are fortunate to have a spacious school environment, excellent facilities and fantastic opportunities for learning both inside and beyond the classroom.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and talented KS2 teacher to join our team from February half term 2027, covering a period of maternity leave.
We warmly welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as well as more experienced teachers. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who believes, as we do, that children deserve an education which enables them not only to achieve academically, but also to grow in confidence, develop their talents and thrive as individuals.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Puts children firmly at the heart of their practice;
- Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for every child;
- Can inspire, challenge and motivate children to achieve their very best;
- Creates a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn;
- Has strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, particularly within KS2;
- Understands that positive relationships are fundamental to successful learning;
- Is reflective, enthusiastic and keen to continue developing professionally;
- Will embrace and contribute to the wider life of our school;
- Values teamwork and enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues; and
- Brings warmth, positivity and, importantly, a good sense of humour!

Boney Hay Primary Academy School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
