The Key Warehouse Operative works on a dynamic, high-speed food logistics site, ensuring fresh grocery items are received, sorted, and dispatched efficiently during day shifts. You will operate in a safety-focused environment, using equipment such as pallet trucks and conveyors to keep the supply chain moving smoothly and meet tight delivery targets.
Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming grocery deliveries quickly and accurately.
- Sort and stage products for outbound loading according to FIFO principles.
- Operate pallet trucks, forklifts, and conveyor systems safely.
- Maintain clean and organized work zones to meet hygiene standards.
- Perform regular stock counts and update inventory systems.
- Identify and report any damaged or out-of-spec items.
- Assist with order picking and palletising for dispatch.
- Support the team in meeting daily throughput targets.
- Follow all health, safety, and food safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

- Minimum 6 months experience in a warehouse or food logistics environment.
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy.
- Basic numeracy and computer literacy for inventory systems.
- Valid forklift or pallet truck licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Good physical fitness – able to lift 25 kg regularly.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work day shifts, Monday-Friday.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of health and safety legislation.
