The Key Warehouse Operative works on a dynamic, high-speed food logistics site, ensuring fresh grocery items are received, sorted, and dispatched efficiently during day shifts. You will operate in a safety-focused environment, using equipment such as pallet trucks and conveyors to keep the supply chain moving smoothly and meet tight delivery targets.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming grocery deliveries quickly and accurately.
  • Sort and stage products for outbound loading according to FIFO principles.
  • Operate pallet trucks, forklifts, and conveyor systems safely.
  • Maintain clean and organized work zones to meet hygiene standards.
  • Perform regular stock counts and update inventory systems.
  • Identify and report any damaged or out-of-spec items.
  • Assist with order picking and palletising for dispatch.
  • Support the team in meeting daily throughput targets.
  • Follow all health, safety, and food safety procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a warehouse or food logistics environment.
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy.
  • Basic numeracy and computer literacy for inventory systems.
  • Valid forklift or pallet truck licence (or willingness to obtain).
  • Good physical fitness – able to lift 25 kg regularly.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Flexibility to work day shifts, Monday-Friday.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety legislation.
