Kitchen Assistant
Residential Care Home, Pocklington, York
Are you a reliable and caring individual looking for a rewarding role in a friendly care home environment? We are currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated team at Wold Haven Residential Care Home.
About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important part in ensuring our residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
Working Hours
- 3 days per week
- Shifts:
- 7:00am - 3:00pm
- 12:00pm - 6:00pm
- 4-week rolling rota
- Includes 2 weekends in every 4-week period

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the kitchen team with meal preparation
- Washing dishes and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Assisting with food service to residents
- Following food safety and health & safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous kitchen, catering, or food service experience is desirable but not essential
- Positive, hardworking attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- A genuine commitment to supporting residents in a care home setting
