Job Description

We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and motivated Kitchen Assistant / Chef to join our team. This is predominantly a lone-working role, so the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working independently, using their own initiative and managing their workload effectively.

The role will involve supporting the preparation and production of food, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, and ensuring that all food is prepared and handled in accordance with health, safety and hygiene requirements.

Previous kitchen or catering experience is preferred but not essential, as full training and guidance will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing food and assisting with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Following recipes, menus, written instructions and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Preparing ingredients and ensuring food is prepared to the required standard.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Ensuring all food is stored, prepared and handled safely.
  • Following all food hygiene, health and safety and workplace procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Checking stock and reporting any shortages or issues when required.
  • Using kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, surfaces and other areas as required.
  • Working independently and managing tasks effectively without constant supervision.
  • Taking initiative and identifying tasks that need to be completed.
  • Reporting any concerns, accidents, incidents, equipment faults or food safety issues promptly.
  • Working as part of a team when required and communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties associated with the role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
