Position: Kitchen Assistant
Location: Labman HQ, Stokesley, North Yorkshire
Salary: £13.50 per hour
Employment Type: Part-Time (Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 2:00pm)

Our work supports global customers across industries from pharmaceuticals to materials science, developing automation that makes the world’s most advanced research faster, safer, and more sustainable.
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our staff catering facility at Labman HQ. You’ll work alongside our Catering Manager to provide a clean, welcoming and efficient lunchtime service for our employees.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining high standards and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
What You'll Do:
- Assist with basic food preparation, including preparing ingredients and plating food.
- Support the lunchtime service and serve food and drinks in a friendly and professional manner.
- Keep the kitchen, serving areas and dining spaces clean, tidy and well presented.
- Support the Catering Manager with opening, lunchtime service and closing duties.
- Wash up, clean equipment and ensure workspaces are cleared and organised.
- Restock food, drinks, consumables and cleaning supplies.
- Help maintain appropriate stock rotation and reduce food and material waste.
- Follow food hygiene, allergen awareness, cleaning and health and safety procedures.
- Report any equipment faults, hazards, stock issues or other concerns to the Catering Manager.
- Support other reasonable catering duties as required.

What You'll Need:
- A friendly, approachable and positive attitude.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good attention to cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
- Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
- Comfortable working in a busy environment during lunchtime service.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to follow instructions and established procedures.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in.
- Previous catering or kitchen experience would be beneficial, but isn't essential as training will be provided.
