Hours: Full Time / Part Time Available
Contract: Permanent (with every other weekend off)

Bowburn Manor is an exciting new luxury care home preparing to open its doors in Durham.

We're looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our founding team and help create a kitchen culture built on teamwork, kindness and excellence.

The Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll be an important part of the catering team, helping ensure residents receive high-quality meals in a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
You'll support the Chef, maintain excellent kitchen standards and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.

Every task you undertake, from food preparation to maintaining cleanliness, helps enhance the experience of our residents.
What You'll Do
- Support Meal Preparation: Assist the Chef with preparing ingredients and meals that are nutritious, fresh and appealing.
- Deliver Excellent Service: Help ensure meals are served efficiently and thoughtfully while respecting individual choices and dietary needs.
- Keep Standards High: Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Manage Deliveries and Stock: Receive deliveries, store food correctly and support effective stock rotation procedures.
- Promote Food Safety: Operate safely and follow all food hygiene, HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.
- Work as One Team: Support colleagues throughout the home and contribute to creating a positive and friendly environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within catering, hospitality or food preparation is desirable.
- A positive and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good communication skills.
- An appreciation of high standards and attention to detail.
- A caring and respectful approach towards older people.
