Willowbrook Care Home

Willowbrook Care Home is a specialist service in Birmingham, providing high quality care for up to 75 residents living with dementia, mental health conditions and complex needs. The home delivers clinically led, person centred care within a structured and supportive environment, promoting independence, stability and overall wellbeing.

Kitchen Assistant Contract

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Contracted to 36 hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.

  • Assist with food preparation
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness
  • Ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Work as part of the team to help prepare meals that meet individual dietary needs, including modified or specialist diets where required
  • Support with deliveries, storage, and kitchen organisation, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and well maintained
  • Contribute to the smooth day to day running of the kitchen while supporting a positive dining experience for residents

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or food preparation role is desirable but not essential
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment
  • A reliable, hardworking, and positive approach
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a care environment
