A freshly prepared meal and a welcoming dining experience can make a real difference to someone's day. As a Kitchen Assistant at St Johns Nursing Home, you'll play an important part in helping residents enjoy their meals and feel at home.

Clarendon Care Services Ltd is a forward-thinking and growing organisation with established residential and nursing homes across the Midlands. We pride ourselves on providing residents with the highest standards of care by employing people who bring compassion, kindness and commitment to their work.

We're looking for a reliable and caring Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team and help keep our kitchen running smoothly.

Your role

  • Pay: £12.71 per hour
  • Contracted hours: 29 hours per week
  • Location: St Johns Street, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, B61 8QT

Working alongside the cook and care team, you will help prepare and serve food while maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen. You will:

  • Help with food preparation and the presentation of meals, snacks and drinks.
  • Support meal service, following guidance on residents' individual dietary needs and allergens.
  • Wash up and clean kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas.
  • Help put away deliveries and rotate stock safely.
  • Follow food hygiene, infection prevention and health and safety procedures.

Your attention to detail and willingness to help will support a mealtime experience that residents can look forward to.

What You'll Bring

  • Previous kitchen experience is welcome, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important. We'll support you with training to help you carry out your duties confidently.
  • A caring, friendly and respectful approach.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliability, organisation and attention to cleanliness.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work calmly during busy meal services.
  • A commitment to food hygiene and residents' wellbeing.
