Pay rate: £12.71 per hour

Contract type: Permanent, zero-hour contract, as required

As a Kitchen Assistant at Altcar Training Camp, you'll be part of a dedicated team delivering great food and service to military personnel, reservists, cadets, and visitors. To be eligible for this role

  • You must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years.
  • You must have a legal right to work.
  • You must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with a team of chefs and enhanced inmates to deliver meals 3 times a day.
  • Supervise and assist enhanced inmates in the kitchen unit.
  • Prepare basic quality foods within a set pre-ordered menu.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy, and all stock checks are carried out correctly.
  • Fill in all relevant paperwork and due diligence forms.
  • Be an excellent team player and be able to deal with conflict if it arises.
  • Undertake relevant training as required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Previous supervisory skills.
  • Relevant culinary qualification.
  • Experience working in a large-scale kitchen.
