About the Role
We are currently looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Llanidloes to assist the Canteen Manager to undertake all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high-quality service to all staff across the site.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00am - 14:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Manager in their absence. Accept responsibility and be accountable for day-to-day activities.
- Ordering of stock including raising/receipting PO’s on SAP (covering Manager holidays/absence)
- Continuously review menus
- Preparing and cooking of food
- Assist onsite events such as summer BBQ and staff Christmas dinner
- Participate in on-site engagement activities i.e. Free Breakfast Friday’s / charity fundraising
- Assist stock taking and product rotation
- Serving of food and beverages
- Collect monies and operate cash till
- Cleaning of kitchen equipment, worktops, tables, and floors
- Report faults to Line Manager so they can be put right quickly to avoid downtime and potential loss of stock
- Prepare Buffets / refreshments for on-site meetings
- Comply with company health and safety standards at all times and ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy
- Comply with food hygiene standards at all times
- Comply with all COSHH and HACCP guidelines

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Keeps up to date with relevant legislation affecting staff catering facilities
- Previous kitchen experience
- Previous experience assisting the running of canteen kitchen
- Good verbal, written, and numerical skills
- Well organised
- A team player
- Self-motivated
- Friendly individual with a focus on customer service
- Good PC skills
- Social media activities
