40 Hour Week | No Weekends

Earnings

£27,445 salary based on a 40-hour working week.

Working Pattern

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.

About The Cook Role

As our Cook, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of our staff canteen, preparing and serving fresh meals while maintaining excellent food hygiene and service standards.

This is a stand-alone role that offers the opportunity to take ownership of menu planning, purchasing and food preparation, ensuring colleagues have access to high-quality meals throughout the working day.

You'll play an important part in creating a positive workplace environment while showcasing your culinary skills in a professional and supportive setting.

What You'll Be Doing As a Cook

  • Preparing and serving meals, snacks and beverages to a high standard
  • Planning menus and sourcing quality ingredients while managing food costs effectively
  • Purchasing stock and maintaining accurate purchase records and receipts
  • Managing till readings, reconciling daily food sales and providing reports to the accounts team
  • Maintaining food hygiene records and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
  • Conducting regular stock checks and ensuring effective stock rotation
  • Keeping the kitchen and food preparation areas clean, organised and well maintained
  • Delivering a welcoming and professional service to colleagues across the business

What We're Looking For

  • Previous kitchen or catering experience is essential
  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification
  • A passion for preparing and serving quality food
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
  • A positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service
