Job Title: Kitchen Designer
Kitchens by Kemp is a bespoke kitchen studio in South Manchester, designing and fitting high-end kitchens across Manchester and Cheshire for the past ten years. We're hiring because we have warm projects provided by existing professional relationships and need someone passionate to help us move them forward. That means the person who joins us starts with work in front of them rather than a cold diary.
We're looking for an experienced designer who can close. If you're motivated by quality design and you're at your best in front of clients, we'd like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Live projects from week one: Take on projects that have already been presented. Follow them up, refine the designs, and take clients from presentation through to deposit.
- Design & specification: Run your own projects start to finish: brief, 3D presentation, survey, specification. Then hand over to the project coordination team for ordering and installation.
- Client engagement: Welcome clients, understand what they're actually after, and run design consultations.
- Sales focus: Convert through good design and genuine service, building relationships that hold across a long project.
- Showroom support: Help keep the showroom looking as good as the work we put in it, and work alongside the rest of the team.

Requirements
- A real love of interiors: Clients can tell within minutes whether you care about the room or are working through a quote. We need both halves of this! Designers who have one without the other tend to struggle here.
- Sales experience: A proven record of closing. Someone has to ask for the deposit and it will be you.
- Industry experience: Minimum 1 year in KBB or at the premium end of interiors. Showroom experience preferred.
- Design software: Confident CAD skills. We use Vectorworks; SketchUp also useful. Strong skills in a comparable package considered.
- Project management: Able to hold several live projects at once without dropping detail.

Kitchens by Kemp is an independent, bespoke kitchen design studio. We're a small team, so you'd work directly with our lead designer and our MD. The approach is personal, professional and built entirely around each client's brief. There's a new showroom on the roadmap.
Job Details
- Job Type: Full-time
- Location: Sale, M33 7AN
- Salary: £26,500 base plus uncapped commission. OTE £40,000. The commission is uncapped because we'd rather not put a ceiling on what a good closer earns, and the pipeline is warm on day one so you're not waiting on a cold start for your first commission.

Schedule
Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday in five. You take the Friday after off in lieu, so those weeks you get a three-day weekend.
