The Kitchen Fitter role at Symphony Group PLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Cambridge, ON. The Kitchen Fitter will be responsible for installing fitted kitchen units, worktops, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with design plans and manufacturer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Measuring and cutting materials
- Assembling and securing units
- Fitting sinks and hardware
- Ensuring all installations are finished to a high standard
The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, coordinating with site supervisors and other trades, and adhering to health and safety regulations on-site. The Kitchen Fitter will also be expected to:
- Complete quality checks
- Resolve installation issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in carpentry, joinery, or cabinet installation, with experience fitting kitchens or similar built-in furniture.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and measurements accurately.
- Competence using hand and power tools safely, including saws, drills, levels, and measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of on-site health and safety practices and safe handling of materials.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship and finishing.
- Effective communication skills for working with site managers, clients, and colleagues.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle lifting, standing, and repetitive tasks throughout the day.
- Previous experience in construction, kitchen fitting, or a related trade; an apprenticeship or trade qualification is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to reach job sites in and around Cambridge, ON.
