The garden is open to the public in the spring and summer and we expect around 20,000 visitors. The successful candidate will join an existing team and will work closely with the estate owners.

This permanent position involves the production of fruit, vegetables, cut flowers and for use by the owners and others.

The role

This is a full-time permanent position joining a friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the glasshouses and walled garden under the general supervision of the Head Gardener.

Reliability and self-motivation are important. The successful applicant will be required to enhance what already exists, increase productivity, and maintain the high standards of presentation for the enjoyment of the family and visitors.

The candidate will join an existing team and work with them with seasonal tasks in the extensive pleasure gardens. Some weekend work is also required.

A PA1 and PA6 Knapsack Spraying Certificate is advantageous.

The package

This is a live-in position; accommodation is a 4-bedroom house adjacent to the kitchen garden. Candidate to pay own utilities. Families and pets’ welcome.

Good salary dependant on experience.
